This is the truck that moved our stuff from Utah to Texas so we wouldn't have to drive a slow, 10-miles-to-the-gallon Uhaul. We only filled up about 6 feet of this trailer which made us realize how little we have!
We left on Tuesday the 27th of July and spent the night with my good friend and old roommate Gillian and her family in New Mexico that night. On Wednesday afternoon we finally saw this...
Yay! We were in Texas...but we still had about half of our driving left to do :( We spent the night on Wednesday night in Wichita Falls Texas and left Thursday morning for Houston. Thursday night we arrived and we closed on our condo on Saturday. We ran into some trouble with closing and ended up having to go back to sign some papers and our truck couldn't be delivered on time so we didn't have anyone to help us unload like we thought we would. Luckily for us Weston found out that one of his friends from high school, TC is living down here and he and his wife Emily came over and saved us. We got everything unloaded on Saturday night!
It was a very exhausting day.
My birthday was the next day and Weston discovered that another couple he knew, Sean and Katie was in our ward so we invited them and TC and Emily over for dinner and cake and ice cream, but seeing as we didn't have a dining room table yet we ended up going over to Sean and Katie's house to celebrate. This was the cake Weston got me. So cute!
Last week we finally got some furniture and started setting up our little house.
We have decided that IKEA is our new favorite store of all time. They have fantastic prices which is perfect for people who have no money like us! The condo is still a work in progress, but at least we have a place to sit and a place to eat now.
We also went down to Galveston and went to the beach last weekend with TC and Emily. The water is so warm! The beach isn't the prettiest thing in the world, but hey I've never lived 45 minutes from the ocean before.
Last night, Weston had his white coat ceremony where he received his white doctor's coat and it was kind of the official start to med school. I was sitting by myself and a girl came and sat down next to me and asked who I was here for. I told her my husband and she said she was too. I asked her where she was from and she said Springville, Utah! What the? Turns out she knows Weston's brother and she and her husband are in our ward here in Houston AND she's pregnant and due in December! NEW BEST FRIEND!! I can't tell you how happy I was! Now I have someone that I can hang out with while our husbands are in class all day and studying all night. YAY!
Weston starts class on Monday and I'm trying to find a temporary job so I don't lose my mind sitting at home all day until the baby comes! If anyone wants to come visit you are welcome! I have a feeling I might be a little bored until October.
