Over the past week, the reality that I am going to have a baby in a little over a month has really hit me. I have realized that I should probably get his room ready and get all of the things for him that we still need and don't yet have. So, we got the crib and, after hours and hours of hard labor and frustration, put it together. I can honestly say that I have never seen a more ridiculous piece of furniture to assemble. There were about 4 or 5 bags of bolts, screws, nuts, and other tiny pieces of hardware--none of which were labeled. Weston and I did a lot of measuring of the screws and bolts to figure out which ones went where. Also, the instructions weren't really "instructions," it was more like a confusing book of hieroglyphic pictures that we were expected to decipher. Needless to say, the crib is finished and we are just waiting on the mattress to get here so I can take pictures of the final product. I have also been busy staining a dresser that I bought for $40 from IKEA. I am discovering that it is a pretty long process, but the only dressers that I could find that even came close to matching the color of the crib were over $200 and, lets be honest, we just don't have that kind of money so, again, IKEA came to the rescue. Anyway, I'm getting close to having little Jackson's room all finished and when I do I will post some pictures. I hope it turns out as cute as I have it pictured in my head!
P.S. I just have to say that I have never wanted to be back in Provo so badly as I did on Saturday night when BYU fought their way into the top ten by beating Oklahoma. What a great night to be a Cougar fan!
