Shameless Self Promotion and a Little of What I've Been up to

First of all, I just wanted to remind you all that it is the season to get your family pictures for Christmas cards taken! Also, it isn't as scorching hot outside anymore so you don't have to worry about looking sweaty in your pictures :) Anyway, check out my photo blog, and email me to set up a session. Now, what I've been up to lately. My craftiness comes in spurts and I've had one of those spurts recently. My living room was driving me absolutely crazy so, little by little, I have been changing the decor. First, I did my mantel.
Remember, it used to look like this:

Well, I got these new curtains:

so I changed my mantel to look like this:

Well then I decided I needed some new matching throw pillows so I'm working on a few. This is the first one I've finished:

I got a little side tracked from the pillows when I found a great coffee table at Goodwill. After a little drama we got the table and went to work refinishing it.
It started out looking like this:



But now it looks like this!

P.S. isn't that rug to die for? $20 from IKEA. Gotta love it.
After I found the table, I got the Goodwill bug and went back and found a fantastic shelf that I refinished and hung up to put my holiday decorations on

I'm pretty excited about getting my living room to look presentable. Now I just need to score a cheap end table and entertainment center and hang up some wall art!
